Welcome to Paryay

Deep roots in Marathwada’s most marginalised communities.

Paryay focuses on the Marathwada region of Maharashtra where natural resources, livelihood opportunities and human rights challenges are intense. Its work supports the social, economic, cultural and educational development of men, women and children from landless Dalit, tribal and minority communities.

1982Activists began development work with slum communities in Pune as Janiv Group.
1986Work shifted to roots of migration and deprivation in Osmanabad, Marathwada.
1993Rescue, relief and rehabilitation support after earthquake devastation.
1994Paryay registered and continued community-led rights work.

A grassroots model for dignity and justice.

Through capacity building, information dissemination, natural resource management, research, networking, policy advocacy and livelihood promotion, Paryay helps communities become independent, confident and able to stand up for their rights.
